Molly was very sad. She missed her friends. She missed her house. She missed her cat. She missed Ireland.
Molly, her da, and her mam were on a ship. They were going to America.
Molly's aunt and uncle lived in America. They lived in a big city. They lived in New York City.
Molly looked at the ocean. It was so big. She was so far from her home. She started to cry.
Molly's da saw her. He put her on his lap. He patted her head.
"Why are you so sad, our Molly?" he asked.
"I miss my room . . . and my house . . . and my cat . . . and Kathleen . . . and Kerry . . . and my school . . . and my bed . . . and . . .
"Slow down, slow down," Da said.
Molly wiped her eyes. She sniffled.
