Max is in third grade. He is good at sports. He plays the piano. He is a good student. He likes math, and he writes great stories. His stories are better than some of the books in the library. Max usually sits at his desk and stares. It looks like he is in a faraway land. He thinks a lot. Sometimes he gets in trouble for not paying attention. He tells his friends that he is dreaming up his next story.
David Adler may be able to relate to Max. He is a well-known author. When he was in school, he was a dreamer. He often got in trouble for it. He says that dreaming makes him a better writer.
