I am so proud of my brother. He has been training for two years to run the marathon coming up on Saturday. It's been a lot of hard work.
I remember when Jerry first thought about running a marathon. He had entered a 5K (a little more than three mile race) in our town -- one that I was already planning to run. I was on the high school track team at the time, so 5Ks were pretty easy for me. Jerry tended to be less active. He enjoyed playing on the computer and doing artwork.
Jerry was one of my biggest fans, though. He came to all of my meets and cheered me on. One day I said to him, "Jerry, I wish you could run with me."
Jerry looked down at the ground. "I wish I could, too, Griffin."
