Reading Comprehension for October 1
Tanner and Jenny both wanted a treat.
They wanted to make something yummy to eat.
"Oh, what can we make that is tasty and quick?"
"And after we're done, there will be spoons to lick."
They sat thinking about the foods they could cook.
Then Jenny said, "Look at this big cookie book!"
The first page showed chocolate chip cookies to make.
The next showed them pretzel-shaped cookies to bake.
They studied the pictures of gingerbread men
And iced raisin oatmeals, all stacked in a tin.
"I like peanut butter," said Tanner with hope.
But Jenny told Tanner she'd rather eat soap.
She pointed to lemon; he wrinkled his nose.
