Calvin Klein, born November 19, 1942, once said, "Anything I wanted to do, I did. If there's something I want to do, nothing stops me." He has lived that way all his life - a life that has taken some interesting turns.
Calvin became interested in fashion through his mother. As a child, he tagged along with her when she went shopping, and she instilled in him a love of fashion and art. He attended the New York Fashion Institute of Technology and began a journey of creating fashions and establishing a business with a friend when Klein was 26. Within a short time, Calvin Klein had a $50,000 order from Bonwit Teller. The upscale department store helped launch his career.
