Aye-ayes
Aye-ayes are very rare animals. They also look very strange. Aye-ayes have dark brown or black fur. The fur has white guard hairs around the neck. The tail of the aye-aye is big and bushy. The tail looks like the tail of a squirrel. Aye-ayes have big ears. They have bright, beady eyes. The face of an aye-aye is the same shape as the face of a raccoon.
Aye-ayes have teeth similar to rodents' teeth. The teeth are sharp and never stop growing. The body of an aye-aye looks like the body of a monkey. Aye-ayes have unusual hands. The fingers are long, skinny, and curved. The thumbs are opposable and can be easily moved around. The middle finger is much longer than the other fingers. All the fingers have sharp, pointed claws.
The aye-aye uses its middle finger to look for food. The aye-aye walks along a tree branch. It taps on the wood with its middle finger. The aye-aye listens with its big ears for the sounds of insect larvae. The aye-aye then uses its teeth to bite through the tree bark. It reaches inside the branch with its middle finger. It scoops out a tasty meal.
