Have you ever been around a group of young children playing in a park? Maybe they are splashing in a fountain, or watching a puppet show, or playing on a playground. What sound do you often hear from them? That's right, laughter.
Children have a tendency to laugh far more often than adults. One study shows that preschool children laugh several hundred times a day, but adults laugh less than 20! So, you tend to laugh less as you get older. Perhaps that is because you have more responsibilities or have more experiences that are challenging.
Laughter is good for you. Laughing regularly has great benefits for your body, mind, and spirit. A popular proverb from the Bible tells us that "a merry heart does good like a medicine." Joyful people help their own health and vitality.
