Julian wanted advice while preparing for his date with Jillian. Explain why Amelia, his sister, was the only one he could turn to.
Eduardo confessed to Julian that he hadn't talked to Jillian as he'd promised. He never told her that Julian only liked her as a friend, not a girl friend. That made Julian so angry he charged after Eduardo until he finally lunged, fell, and hit his head on the monkey bars. Why did Julian find that playground incident to be both painful, and a relief?
Julian's father had a favorite saying: "No good deed goes unpunished." Give at least one example in which his saying proved to be true for Julian.
Why did Julian feel that Eduardo had a right to "have a real beef" with God? Why was Julian upset with God?
After reading
Julius Caesar
, Julian was anxious to read more Shakespeare. He dug out his old notebook and found the speech he had to memorize for fourth grade. Summarize the content of "What a piece of work is a man!", and explain how Shakespeare's words helped Julian make better sense of his life.
