Florence builds fountains for a living. Describe your ideal drinking fountain and where it would be found in your school.
Letter writing is a skill. Compare/contrast the letters written by Goldie, Florence, Principal Russ, and the children in Sam N.'s class. Discuss how they are similar and how they are different.
Sam N. gives his students a "Word of the Day." Keep a dictionary of all the words with their definitions and use the word in a sentence.
The students in Sam N.'s fifth grade class write to Florence at her request. Explain why their requests for a drinking fountain were reasonable or not, and why.
