Why did Katie, as Jeremy, get mad at the boys when they were preparing to play soccer? What things did they say that made Katie really mad? What did she do to get back at them?
Besides getting back at the boys, what else was Katie, as Jeremy, trying to do when she picked Mandy to be on her soccer team? What point was she trying to make? Did things work out as she planned? How did Katie make everything worse between the boys and the girls? What problems did Katie cause for Jeremy?
For the boys in Katie's class, it was terrible to be called a girl lover. Why do you think it was such a bad thing to them? Would it be just as bad for a girl to be called a boy lover? Why or why not? What, if any, is the difference between the two situations?
Katie and Jeremy had been best friends most of their lives, yet Jeremy was quick to turn against Katie when the boys called him a girl lover. Why is peer pressure so powerful? Have you ever experienced peer pressure? If you have, what happened? If you haven't experienced peer pressure, what have you seen other people experience?
The tension between the boys and girls continued to get worse. What suggestions would you offer to solve the problems between the boys and the girls? Why would your ideas work?
What do you think was the cause of the tension between the boys and the girls? Do you think one person should have taken the blame, or do you think many people were at fault? Why?
