¹     Black cats, pumpkins, and candy corn were on the walls. They made Ross think of masks and parties. Would class ever end? Fun waited for him at home!
 
²     "Ross," Mrs. Mason said. Ross jumped. "The bell will ring soon. Please work on the lesson until then."
 
³     Just then Bonnie cried, "Mrs. Mason! Mrs. Mason! It is snowing!"
 
⁴     Ross turned his neck to see. He stood up and ran to the window for a better look. He saw cars by the road that were white with snow.
 
⁵     Mrs. Mason told Ross to sit. He sank into his seat and put his head on his desk. There would be no fun tonight.
