1     La Guerra Franco-india cambió la faz política de los Estados Unidos. Los franceses, que habían controlado vastas áreas de Norteamérica, ahora estaban limitados a dos pequeñas islas cerca de Newfoundland. Los británicos, ganadores del conflicto, quedaron en posesión de la mitad de los Estados Unidos y de todo lo que sería Canadá. El territorio controlado por los españoles incluía Nueva Orleans y las tierras al oeste del río Mississippi.
 
2     A muchos nativos americanos no les agradaban estos cambios. No entendían la forma de pensar de los blancos, ni por qué actuaban como lo hacían.
 
3     Las peleas entre indígenas y colonos no eran guerras en el sentido que les damos hoy. Generalmente no eran más que conflictos locales, pero aun así tenían resultados serios.
