Pirate Cave Ghost, Part 1

1     Marco Palazzo and Trevor Morgan sat silently in the Ice Cream Palace and listened to the conversations that burbled around them. Marco liked the hamburgers best, but Trevor liked the ice cream. So far, the summer had been a dry one for information of any kind. That is, unless you wanted to know that old Mrs. Johnson won the paint store drawing for enough paint to coat her house twice over or that Jessica Sanders' cat had three kittens, and all of them had six toes on each foot. These weren't exactly the kinds of things that really caught the average guy's interest.
 
2     Mr. Martinez stopped on the other side of the counter from the boys. "Can I get you something else to eat or drink?" he asked as he wiped water rings from the counter left by their cups.
 
3     Marco and Trevor looked at each other and shook their heads. "We'll just finish our drinks and head out," said Trevor.
 
4     "Have you heard any interesting news, Mr. Martinez?" asked Marco.
