Treatment of the United States Flag
By Cathy Pearl

1     Do you ever think about the United States flag? Do you ever think about how people treat it? A flag is not just a colored piece of cloth. How people treat a flag can tell you many things. In the United States this is an important issue.

2     There are many guidelines about how to treat the United States flag. A flag should not be used as a covering for a ceiling. It should not be folded when on display. You should never write on the American flag.

3     Have you ever seen a flag outside at night? United States flags should not be flown after dark. If it is the flag should have a light on it. Look around tonight and see if you see any flags outside in the dark!
