¹     Kate and Al were outside. It was a hot July day. They were having a picnic. They were at the park with their families.
 
²     Kate and Al played on the swings. They went down the slide. They ran around.
 
³     Kate and Al were tired. They went to get some food. They ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They ate some potato chips. They drank some iced tea.
 
⁴     Kate and Al went to play again.
 
⁵     "Clean up, you two!" Kate's mom yelled.
 
⁶     "OK!" Kate yelled back. She picked up her plate. She went to the garbage can. Then she yelled, "Ouch!"
 
⁷     "What happened?" Kate's mom asked as she ran over to help.
 
⁸     "I was stung by a bee!"
 
⁹     Kate's mom took a look. Sure enough there was a stinger in Kate's arm. She had been stung by a bee.
