¹     Mama Hog had three pigs. They ate all day. They ate all the food. They ate the cake that Mama made for Dan Duck.
 
²     That made Mama mad. "I am done cooking for you," she said. "You can shop for your own food. You can cook it. You can eat it."
 
³     Mama Hog told her pigs to go. She gave each pig sixteen cents. They went away on a train.
 
⁴     Three days went by. Mama missed her little pigs. She went to look for them.
 
⁵     "Here is a hut. It is made of hay," she said. "The door is not here. My pigs are not here."
 
⁶     Mama Hog came to a hut of sticks. The door was gone. She looked inside. "My pigs are not here. I must keep looking."
 
⁷     At noon Mama Hog came to a brick hut. It had a door, but it was shut. "Are my little pigs here?"
 
⁸     "Yes!" the pigs cried. "Come in!" They each gave Mama a hug.
 
⁹     "You are just in time for dinner," one pig said. "We made stew."
